Drummin' with the GrizzliesThis year Grovecrest has been awarded the State PTA Arts grant, and with that grant we have purchased bucket drums and other fun percussion instruments to use in drum circles! Drum circles are a great way to create unity and teamwork, build confidence, and improve academic and social skills, so we are thrilled for PTA's generosity so that we can add this to our music curriculum!
The first week of each month we'll have drum circles during the regularly scheduled music classes, and we will be inviting volunteer parents, staff, and community members to join with us as a part of the PTA project. Drum circles are fun for children and adults alike, and you won't regret taking 30 minutes to join in this fun learning experience. No musical talent required! If you are interested in participating with a drum circle in your child's class, you can sign-up by clicking one of the following links. Come just one time, or every month-- it's up to you!
